Studies in Economics Faculty prepare for the profession of economist. The curriculum has been prepared so as to provide the graduate with the ability to grasp economic phenomena in the field of economics. The aim of the studies is to equip the graduates with competences for professional, independent performance of tasks in the field of economics, including carrying out financial matters in small, medium and large corporate production, service provision and commercial enterprises, in public institutions, financial organizations, as well as in economic entities. The knowledge and skills acquired in these studies are useful in running one’s own business activity.

Specialty offered in the Economics Faculty:

  • entrepreneurship and development of own business activity (PiRWDG);
  • economics of public sector (ESP).

Specialty "entrepreneurship and development of own business activity (PiRWDG)" facilitates a student preparation to work in business. The graduate has the skills necessary to conduct consulting activities or their own business. They are prepared both as a micro-entrepreneur as well as to perform expert professions, in Poland and abroad, in particular such professions as an analyst, specialist, consultant in commercial or public sector or on the border of these two sectors.

Choosing the specialty "economics and finance of small and medium-sized enterprises", the student has in-depth knowledge of the theory and practice of enterprise operation. They know the methods of market analysis, know how the capital market operates, know the rules of running an investment account. Moreover, the student can also design business strategies in the field of finance and marketing.

Characteristic of the student at the specialty “economics of public sector”

A graduate of the "economics of public sector" specialty can undertake employment in all entities of the public economy, which require the skills to prepare, make and implement decisions. The graduate is prepared to efficiently respond to changes in the economic and social environment. This applies to changes in the methods of financing and managing health care, the field of culture, but also small, medium and large public organizations and non-profit organizations.

A graduate of the "economics of public sector" specialty may undertake employment in local government units, budget units, local budget institutions, executive agencies, budget economy institutions, state special purpose funds, Social Insurance Institutions and the funds managed by them, as well as in the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund and funds managed by the President of the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund, in the National Health Fund, independent public healthcare institutions, public universities, the Polish Academy of Sciences and its organizational, state and local government units.

The first-cycle studies curriculum in economics complies with the teaching standards, the graduate is prepared to undertake second-cycle studies in the same or a related faculty and specialty.

The studies take 6 semesters. Number of hours is 1650, plus 720 hours of internship. Number of ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) is 180.

 


RECRUITMENT OF FOREIGNERS FOR FIRST-CYCLE STUDIES IN ENGLISH

Documents required upon application

When registering, a foreign candidate for first-cycle studies:

  • fills in a personal questionnaire form,
  • submits a scanned copy of their Polish high school diploma or its foreign equivalent, along with a translation into Polish done by a sworn translator, bearing an apostille or subjected to legalization, and an additional translation into Polish by a sworn translator (Education tab),
  • provides an electronic photo in .jpg format (photo compliant with the requirements for issuing personal identification documents),
  • submits a scanned document confirming their English language proficiency at a minimum B2 level (Education tab - Certificates and other documents required for enrollment).

If the candidate does not possess a language proficiency document in the language of instruction, they may request a language proficiency verification. To do so, the candidate must submit the application by the deadline of - 16.09.2024. The application should be filled out, signed, scanned, and then sent through the IRK system using the Help tab. The subject of the message should be: "Application for language proficiency verification" - Application to download

  •  specifies the foreigner status in Poland and provides a scanned copy of the relevant document (e.g., valid Polish Card, supplementary protection status - UKR, permanent residence permit) (Foreign Candidate tab),
  • enrols in the chosen undergraduate program by submitting their recruitment application (Recruitment Applications tab),
  • makes the required recruitment payment to an individual account within the specified deadline according to the recruitment schedule,

According to Article 40 § 4 of the Administrative Procedure Code of 14 June 1960, "A party who does not have a place of residence or habitual residence or a registered office in the Republic of Poland, another European Union Member State, the Swiss Confederation, or a European Free Trade Association (EFTA) state - a party to the agreement on the European Economic Area, if they have not appointed a representative for conducting the case residing in the Republic of Poland and are not acting through a consul of the Republic of Poland, is obliged to indicate a representative for deliveries in the Republic of Poland."

• Insurance: All foreign students must have valid insurance for at least the first year of study in Poland, covering medical expenses up to EUR 30,000. The insurance policy, agreement, or certificate from the National Health Fund or European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) serves as proof of insurance.

• Statement from the legal representative of a minor candidate for studies (applies only to minors): Minor candidates must obtain consent to participate in the recruitment process from their legal representative - parent or legal guardian. Failure to provide consent is equivalent to not participating in the recruitment.

After successful registration for studies, foreign candidates should upload the completed and signed documents via the IRK system using the "Additional Information" form:

  • Personal questionnaire form
  • Power of attorney for deliveries
  • Statement of consent from parents/legal guardians for participation in the recruitment process and enrollment of a minor person (applies only to minors)

Important information for candidates:

Document translations

All documents prepared in a language other than Polish should be translated into Polish by

  • A sworn translator of Polish (the list of sworn translators from the Polish Ministry of Justice is available at LINK);
  • A sworn translator from the EU (if there is an institution of sworn translators in the respective country);
  • An RP consul competent for the country where the document was issued, or within whose legal system it operates;
  • An accredited diplomatic representation or consular office of the country where the document was issued.

The translation can be done by a translation agency, but it must be certified by a Polish diplomatic mission or a sworn translator. Translations certified by a notary are not accepted.

Tuition fees

 Part-time studies for foreigners are charged. Fees are available at www.dss.ujd.edu.pl under FEES.

Accommodation

Foreign students who submit an application can be provided with accommodation in the "SKRZAT" Student House - www.skrzat.ujd.edu.pl. The monthly fee is PLN 490 per person for a double room, as specified in the Rector's Order at Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa.
