Admission of International Candidates to degree programmes in English Academic Year 2026/2027

Documents required

Secondary/High School certificate

You must provide:

• a copy of your Polish Matura certificate, or
• a foreign secondary/high school certificate (a document that allows you to apply for university in the country where it was issued).

The document must:

• have Apostille – if it was issued in a country that is a member of the Hague Convention (5 October 1961) https://www.hcch.net/en/instruments/conventions/status-table/?cid=41
• have legalisation – if it was issued in a country that is not a member of the Convention
• be translated into Polish by a sworn translator. • be officially recognised by NAWA – Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange https://syrena.nawa.gov.pl/

NAWA Recognition

If your certificate is not automatically recognised in Poland, you must obtain an official Diploma Recognition Statement from NAWA, which confirms that your certificate allows you to start university studies in Poland.

Information from the Director of NAWA is not required for certificates issued in EU, OECD and EFTA countries or in countries with which Poland has concluded agreements on mutual recognition of education, including Ukraine full secondary education certificate and China Gaozhong certificate.

Document confirming their English language proficiency at a minimum B2 level according to the list:

List of documents recognised that confirm proficiency in the English language at a minimum B2 level, in accordance with the regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education:

A certificate, diploma, or other document confirming proficiency in English in all four language skills (listening comprehension, reading, speaking, and writing) at B2, C1, or C2 level, issued by one of the following institutions: 

• University of Cambridge, ESOL Examinations: 

̶            B2 First (FCE) 

̶            C1 Advanced (CAE) 

̶            C2 Proficiency (CPE) 

̶            B2 Business Vantage (BEC Vantage) 

̶            C1 Business Higher 

̶            Certificate in English for International Business and Trade (CEIBT) 

•  University of Cambridge, ESOL Examinations, British Council, IDP IELTS Australia: International English Language Testing System IELTS – at least 5.5 points
•  Trinity College London: 

̶            ESOL Skills for Life – Level 1 (B2) or higher 

̶            Integrated Skills in English (ISE) – ISE II or higher 

̶            ISE Digital – above 80 points (B2)

• Educational Testing Service (ETS): 

̶            Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Internet-Based Test (iBT) – at least 72 points 

̶            Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) – at least 785 points in Listening & Reading, 150 points in Speaking, and 160 points in Writing

• Pearson Assessment English: 

̶            Pearson English International Certificate – paper and computer-based versions (formerly Pearson Test of English General (PTE) or London Tests of English) Level 3 (Edexcel Certificate in ESOL International Level 1 – Pass, Merit, Distinction) or higher 

̶            Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) – at least 59 points 

•  LanguageCert (PeopleCert Qualifications (PCQ)): 

̶   LanguageCert International ESOL – LanguageCert Level 1 Certificate in ESOL International (Listening, Reading, Writing) (Communicator B2), also known as LanguageCert International ESOL Communicator B2 Listening, Reading, Writing or higher, along with LanguageCert Level 1 Certificate in ESOL International (Speaking) (Communicator B2), also known as LanguageCert International ESOL Communicator B2 Speaking or higher. 

̶    LanguageCert Academic – LanguageCert Level 1 Certificate in ESOL International (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking) (LanguageCert Academic B2) or higher

̶         LanguageCert Test of English – LanguageCert Level 1 Certificate in ESOL International (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking) (LanguageCert Test of English B2) or higher,

•  Education Development International (EDI), London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examinations Board: London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examinations (LCCI):

̶            English for Business Level 2 or higher

̶            Foundation Certificate for Teachers of Business English (FTBE)

•  European Consortium for the Certificate of Attainment in Modern Languages – Level B2 (Vantage) or higher. 
• telc GmbH, WBT Weiterbildungs-Testsysteme GmbH: 

̶            Certificate in English

Insurance

All foreigners in order to undertake studies must have health insurance. It is recommended that the document presented upon enrolment be valid for at least the first year of studies in Poland and cover treatment costs up to EUR 30 000 for the entire period of validity.
